While in Los Angeles, she worked in physical production at Lionsgate and in development at Langley Park Pictures on the Warner Brothers lot. She won the Best First-time Director Award at the California Film Awards for her short Awake (2013).

When Time Got Louder is Connie’s feature directorial debut. Since the world premiere, the film has been recognized at nearly 40 film festivals spanning across four continents and winning numerous awards.

Connie is a proud member of the Director’s Guild of Canada. She is represented in Canada by Pacific Artists, and is currently in development for her second feature.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community I hope my films will show beautiful queer characters where their sexuality is not the sole focus of the film. They simply exist within the story.

AUTHENTIC REPRESENTATION MATTERS

I’m proud our film is authentically representing the autism and lgbtq+ communities both in front and behind the camera. We cast authentically, the licensed music is all from artists in the autism and lgbtq+ communities, and the crew is gender-balanced and composed of many members from these communities. This was integral in creating When Time Got Louder. I could not see it any other way.
